Our message

AYUMI is a new pharmaceutical company. We were born by absorbing Santen Pharmaceutical’s rheumatism business in August of 2015 and Showa Yakuhin Kako’s medical business (including its analgesics business) in December of 2015. The word “AYUMI” means “steps” in Japanese, and symbolizes our goal of empowering patients to “step” out on their own, away from pain. We will strive to bring comfort and joy to the lives of patients by providing a continuous stream of comprehensive information on rheumatism and orthopedics.

Our goal is to win the respect of society as a whole by improving the quality of life of our customers and helping them to lead normal lives that are free of pain. We have therefore focused our efforts in specialized areas, concentrating on specialty pharma in rheumatism and orthopedics.

We are thrilled at the prospect of creating a brand-new type of pharmaceutical company - a “venture with a long history” combining specialization in rheumatism with a strong track record in analgesics.

AYUMI has just taken its first “steps.” We want to build a company where all employees can work contentedly and with purpose, and our employees as well as everyone else enjoy the benefits. We will always be grateful for your support and advice.
